The main beneficiary of the support is the Ministry of the Environment. Other project partners include the Ministry of Regional Development, Ministry of Finance, Czech Environmental Information Agency, and the Czech Statistical Office.

Project Goal: The fundamental long-term objective is to increase policy coherence in relation to long-term goals, particularly the SDGs and Czech Republic 2030 (ČR 2030) – the overarching strategic document at the national level. ČR 2030 includes cross-cutting themes and is based on three pillars of sustainable development (social, economic, environmental), supplemented by regional dimensions, global development, and good governance. The degree of policy coherence for sustainable development within the project is guided by the objectives and nature of the ČR 2030 framework.

Project Scope: The project focuses on enhancing strategic planning to achieve sustainability goals and significantly improving data monitoring for sustainable development. It includes two main outputs:

  • A report outlining concrete steps to improve policy coherence for sustainable development.
  • An IT system – Dataset Management System (DSMS) for monitoring sustainability indicators, including a data repository and simplified data import and management.

Total CENIA expenditures: 6,567,288 CZK

Implementation period: 1 July 2023 – 31 May 2026

CENIA’s Role in the Project Implementation:

  • Preparing the specifications and documentation for the public procurement of the Dataset Management System (DSMS) and collaborating on the supplier selection.
  • Managing the implementation of the Dataset Management System (DSMS).
  • Data migration.
  • Processing and updating visualizations of indicators for Agenda 2030, ČR 2030, and Quality of Life indicator sets.
  • Publishing and providing access to indicators, including metadata descriptions, for:
    • Managing agencies
    • Open data platforms
    • The website sdg-data.cz
  • Project management

Expected Contribution of CENIA to the Project:

  • Providing know-how for the specification of the new IT system and experience with system implementation.
  • Contributing expertise and experience in data processing and visualization preparation in Power BI.
  • Sharing process management experience.
